Read Science, Evolution and Creationism

January 6th, 2008 · No Comments

For FREE, at the NAS website. Here is the HTML table of contents.  While the more militant science bloggers will surely take offense by their “soft” statement on religion (”…the evidence for evolution can be fully compatible with religious faith. Science and religion are different ways of understanding the world”), this is not a [...]

May 23rd, 2007 · 1 Comment

ID’er, young earth creationist, or credible scientists???
Anyway, Jim has been busy spamming the Mammal-L and Ecolog-L listservs for the past few weeks… Here is one of his posts.

Have you seen this? A peer reviewed journal for young earth creationism! Please tell me that someone out there is preparing some stiff opposition to this. [...]

The resurrection of Jesus

April 15th, 2007 · 7 Comments

I’m not much of a music-while-I-drive kind of guy.. I’d much rather listed to talk radio. As you might imagine, finding something interesting to listen to is quite a challenge. In Southern California, there are 2 basic classes of talk radio. 1. In Spanish, and 2. About religion. Note that these [...]

It’s not often that I laugh this hard over some dork trying to play scientist- but this one is a real gem… My snide remarks are in blue
“Why The Fossils Don’t Support Evolution” or “Count the ways that Babu is not qualified to write this article…”
Millions of people are taught that the fossil record furnishes [...]

Egnor is "a dazzling nincompoop"

March 28th, 2007 · No Comments

I believe PZ has the corner on the Egnor-bashing… Thanks PZ.
He mangles science, now he defames history. Michael Egnor is like the Swiss army knife of creationist hackery.
Former Vice President Al Gore famously claimed to have invented the Internet because years ago he was in the Senate and sponsored a bill. The assertion that Charles [...]

Starbucks showing the hallmark signs of Intelligent Design??

March 11th, 2007 · No Comments

A few months ago, I was motivated to muse about all the reasons I hate starbucks.. I posted them here. In summary, Starbucks coffee:

Is expensive
The people are pretentious
The coffee tastes like shit- remember- even McDonalds is better!
Their business practices are not eco-friendly.
No (or very limited) Fair Traded coffee
Bad music…

Now, even worse.. Starbucks coffee is supporting [...]
