46 California State Parks to be closed

January 30th, 2008 · 3 Comments

The Govenor of California has decided in his infinite wisdom to close 46 state parks and beaches… The ones that had the fewest visitors and generated the least amount if $$ will be closed..OK, does the governor really think that the value of a park is somehow tied to the amount of money it generates? What about biodiversity, the protection of specific habitats, flora, fauna?  What about wildlife corridors?

Does this anger you as much as it does me?? See Map of Closures

Write to the Governator: governor@govmail.ca.gov and tell him why you think they need to be kept open.

I found your site on technorati and read a few of your other posts. Keep up the good work. I just added your RSS feed to my Google News Reader. Looking forward to reading more from you.

Yeah, he really does think that. We have not only closed parks, but dropped lots of employees here in michigan from the park system, and the Dept. of Natural Resources.
