He is a bit demented, but he is right in a way about science even if he cannot articulate it properly, science and philosophy are wedded together and if there is ever another radical advancement in the philosophy of science then our interpretation of science might change a bit, many scientists have been speculating that it will change as human minds become more advanced.
The tools available changed our conception of our environment more then people ever really have, its the engineers and philosophers (of times past) that paved sciences way.
