A few more animals

July 9th, 2006 · No Comments

So as most of you know, I came back to Berkeley with Kate and the Kids last week, after their visit to Deep Canyon. We had a great visit- aside from a bit of sight seeing, we saw most of the animals that the kids had hoped for. The black widow, rattlesnakes, big horn sheep, and desert tortise- which came out after a rare June rain.

The research is going well- over 110 marked animals in 2 trapping grids. ~30 juvenile animals that I will hopefully be able to determine parents for. Some radiotelemetry data (even after loosing 75% of me transmitters). I’m starting the genetics now, and hope to have preliminary results in a few weeks.
