Trapping Continues

June 7th, 2006 · 1 Comment

The building you see in the center of the photo are the reserve Buildings.

Just an update: Tomorrow AM we will attach the telemetry collars to the mice and switch from trapping in Grid 1 to Grid 2. A big pain in the butt to move all 150+ traps to the other side of the canyon and keep them in numerical order.

On grid 1- we have 22 marked individuals- of those 6 will get collars that will stay on for about 7-10 days. After that- we will place the same collars on 6 different known mice on grid 2. The telemetry work is done entirely at night- when the mice are active, so I will become nocturnal for the next couple of weeks.

WOW, didn’t realize you were to be using telemetry…that is so kewl….being nocturnal is rough, but hopefully your experiences will keep you alert, and your activities will tire you enough to help you sleep during the day! Good Luck Son
